Rpair and painting of GFX
Hey Y'all,
I did a search on this and didn't come up with much.
Here's the skinny- I have a scuffed up torn in a small area nose that has been rattle can painted. I assume I need to strip it with some 150 grit or so, use urethane bumper repair on the tears, but then what do I use to prime it that will bond with the urethatne? I know I need to use a flex addative in the paint but what about the primer?
I plan to paint with a single stage acylic urethane. I am removing the GFX, nose and rear bumper to do this.

I dont know what to tell you about the paint situation, becasue I didnt paint mine yet. But my ground effect had cracks in boths corners and I what I did was went to the parts store and pick up some fiberglass sheets and some fiberglass resin and "beefed up" the back side of the gfx. I had tried to fix the cracks once with bondo... that was a mistake first little bump and it came right out, but I havent had any problems with the glass behind the cracks and the resin in the crack. I also drilled a small hole on the top of the crack to prevent it from cracking even more. Just a suggestion. Let me know about that paint additive once you get everything sorted out I am getting my car painted soon and I dont want my front and rear ends spiderwebing like alot of 3rd gens I see.
