rear hatch alignment 101

When trying to remove the panel from my rear hatch I found that some of the studs just spin. The top of the stud is impossible to get to. has anyone run into this problem and have a possible solution. I'm switching to a rear defroster hatch.

I just changed my whole hatch and wing. I ran into the same problem.

I had a friend hold the outer flat "peg" with vise grips and I used an air gun underneath. Be sure to lubricated the peg and nut first, you could shatter the glass.

Easy does it.

Jim.
