This is just an idle thought, but after looking at a custom car book, that was loaded with late 50's cars, I was wondering if anyone ever considered putting a skirt on the rear quarter panel of a third gen. I don't think it would look that bad.

My photoshop skills are somewhat awful when it comes to making something realistic, but this is what I came up with...

actually, that does look pretty real. i likes. looks like mathius solved the problems of everyone that has the rear wheel well trouble too!

 

I don't like it, but that car looks much better as a solid color.

There was one at Hotrod Power Tour here in Lincoln that was a Firebird Notchback with fender skirts and a chopped top.
I was kind of mad that they hacked up a notchback.
