For Firebird owners needing new headlight gears....
Just an FYI,
Corvette Central (www.corvettecentral.com) and Ecklers Corvette Parts (www.ecklers.com) sell bronze headlight replacement gears. Price is around $59 each and also includes new bushings that are much better than what GM originally used.
If your headlight gears are worn, I recommend picking up the ne gears.
They do also carry plastic replacement gears for a lower price.

Yea, they've been selling them for a long time, but I'm sure not many members are willing to shell out $120 just for those gears. You can get two new complete actuators (motors) with a lifetime warranty for that price. It's also dirt cheap to fix the ones we have. But thanks anyway. I'm sure a lot of members were unaware of Eckler's. Dang GM should have just put good bushings in there in the first place instead of that blasted gel junk.
hey nastybird, Z28z (the one with the white camaro with nitrious) and i were talking about that at the show on Saturday. He said something about some ford part for windows can be used to fix our firebird headlights. He said its a direct fit and fixes the problem with the headlights being stuck and/or not coming up or down!
i would pm him and see if he can hook you up.

I did the "rotate the gear" fix which worked for a while, but my headlights are acting up again. So, I dropped the $120 for the bronze gears. My headlights should be fixed for good now.

I meant just the motors, not the whole assembly. I dunno, maybe the prices went up since I checked them; it has been quite a while. Having the hookup for that kind of thing rocks.
Please keep us informed on how you like the gears. I will be getting a set eventually if they are all they are cracked up to be. Thanks.
