i quickly looked on my 86 SC automatic shift **** earlier today since im replacing consoles soon, and i couldnt find a way to get mine off either... i want to know how to get em off too damit lol i thought there was a clib or something on it..

I know on the autos if u look in the front of it there's a lil slit. Stick a flat head screw driver in there, and you have to pry out the lil clip and voila..it pulls right off

hey bud i also had this prob and went crazy lookin for a pin but it actually is just screwed on there real tight. so just remember lefty loosy and turn it with all your might, with mine the shifter was turnin alot and it got scared so i got a rage and wraped it around the shfter then put some vice grips on it and held it from spinin while i gave the **** hell and it came rigth off. good luck man

anyone know if its the same for a automatic? i have the round shift **** so does that screw off too?

lol, I have a T5 too, just unscrew it (might be stuck on there) if its stuck just take some big pliers and wrap in a cloth or something to loosten it. :hail: leather 97 camaro shift **** :hail:
