HELp with NEW NOSE on crashed IROC?
hey i just picked up a used maroon bumper for my red 1990 iroc and i was thinking if i should use paint stripper on it and prime it before i put it on the car any suggestions on what to use to strip the paint off and what to use to prime it? im clueless on body work and im trying to get my crashed car back on the road ****in school teacher cut me off

to strip the old paint you can try a paint stripper that will work on flexable bumpers(like the 3rd gen bumpers). then for primer just normal primer but add flex to allow the primer to move with the bumper.

Unless the paint is chipping/cracking, there is no reason to strip it. The factory stuff will bond and protect better then youll be able to do at home. Justy wet sand it to give the paint something to grab on to.

I agree with Hulk0202 I am an ASE certified master autobody tech and its proven that you can't get anything to stick to the factory bumper like the original paint. You have no reason to remove it unless its cracked or other damge. The original paint will make an excellent fondation for the new paint to stick to.
