Hatch Motor Problem

Ok I just bought a used hatch motor online. Weird thing is it's different then the one on my car. Mine has the clear plastic casing that holds the motor in, the one I got today is all metal and has no visible gears or anything that looks like would make it move. It does have metal tracks on the other side of the whole plate and has all the wiring connected to it. I know there is replacement motor housings for my original but I already paid for this one so I'd like to see if I can figure out how to swap these two styles.

Post or e-mail me a picture. Looks like another possible pig-in-a-poke. I don't recognize it from your description. But I fear it may be the old style Caddilac trunk pull-down unit. If so, you got a genuine P-I-A-P on your hands.

I was right he sent me the top bracket peice only, so he's going to try to find the motor housing.
Thanks

Sounds as if he sent the latch portion only. You are missing the frame, motor, motor housing, mount screws, gear nut, wave washer, bearing, guides, reversing switch and lift rod may also be missing. I've got all the parts in stock to rebuild these units. Up to and including completly rebuilt units with a 6-mo. warranty. How long of a warranty did you get with that one? I also have some of these items on ebay currently.
