hood and louver question
I was wondering if there is a way to mount louver from a 85-90 IROC hood would be able to fit on like a 84 Fiberglass Z28 hood? Ive been looking for a company that make a fiberglass Z28 hood w/ louver but no such luck. Ive been looking at the big block hood, but I dont have $400 + to be spending on a hood right now and Ive never had the chance to look at a 82-84 Z hood to see if they would work? any input is appreciated.

Yeah, they wont fit. The loovers on the 82-84 hoods were painted on, if I remember correctly, and they were a lot smaller.

rob: the 82-84 z28 hood had decals that were applied to the gaps in the hood.
it is indeed true that the louvers from 85-90, and the 91-92 blisters will not fit on the 82-84 hoods.
also, 82-83 had the smc (sheet molded composite) hoods. i believe midway through 83, there were problems with delamination, the hoods would come apart. all 1984 hoods are steel.
