how do I take off the antenna?

how do I take off the antenna?
I am stripping a lot of stuff off of my camaro to paint it but I cant figure out how to get the antenna off, I dont know if they made power ones or not for these years but it is not a power one.

First, unscrew the mast, by the hex portion at the bottom. Then you see a flat, round nut with four notches in the outside, unscrew it, then you can remove the filler between it and the fender. Then tape up what's left.

its tough to find one with real good reception, if you like the radio, keep the antenna, I'd sacrifice listening to the radio, for the clean look, but thats just me.. lol.

radio reception sucks...........i love the look; but i wouldn't do it again just because i like to have a radio and there isn't an option out there that works well.......except maybe satellite radio.
