Guage Install ... Questions/problems

I just bought a set of Autometer Phantom guages for my 91 Camaro Z28. I bought the Oil pressure guage, water temp. guage, and air/fuel guage. I also bought the triple A-Pillar guage pod.

I received all of that stuff from Jegs in 2 days. I test fitted the guage pod on the A-Pillar and it didn't fit good at all. There was about an inch to an inch and a half of extra plastic at the top. It seemed like the pod was getting stuck on the dash and not going in place perfectly. Any suggestions? Did any of you have this problem?

Also I was wondering, where do I put the sensor for the water temp. guage? Some people have told me that it has to go into a spot between the 1 and 3 cylinders and other people tell me that there is a spot on my intake for it. Now my car is a 305 TPI car. Where have you guys ran it when installing yours?

Any advise is appreciated.

Sean

Yes, there is a hole on the head for the sending unit. One in each head as a matter of fact, but if it came with a sending unit in the head, one will be plugged, always being the passenger side. If it came with the sending unit in the intake (by the thermostat housing) or in the thermostat housing, both holes in the heads will be plugged.
