hey does anyone know if the lt1 hood for the 3rd gens can be moddified to allow air to enter? i don't care about making it ram air but i have the xtreme lid and i thought it might be made to open up with a dremel and modded into an opening for cold air???

i have weays of takin care of water!!! also my 300 zx has a big kn cone filter and it sits under the bumper at about 1 foot in the air with nothing around it!!! i have driven in the rain with it with no problemos!!! now if i drove through a deep puddle i would hydrolock the engine!!! trust me thats not going to happen!!! no puddles fo me!!i was just curious about the inside specs if it is raised a little so i can use a bigger tb spacer. i am in the process of finding the 454 tb so i can change it for mine!!! but i want to make sure i have room. they have that other functional ram air hood but i don't know if i like it enough they don't have but like 1 angle of it in the pic!!!

www.markscutomkits.com had an article on hooking up a 12volt sylenoid to a door that would cover the ram air part of the "bulge". you might want to take a look at modifying that for your car.
