power windows/locks non thirdgen
My wife is wanting a cheap throwaway car so we are probably going to get a 2003 Kia Spectra. It doesnt have power windows or locks and I wanted to know a good place to get aftermarket power window and lock parts/kits.
Thanks,
Brian

a 2003 vehicle without power windows and locks? You would think that would be standard in even the cheapest models. Wierd.
Give the kia dealer a call and inquire about the cost of the power window regulator and motor assemblies for both front doors. If it's not cost prohibitive, original factory parts are probably your best choice if reliability is a concern. Back windows typically don't get used too much on a 4 door car so there's probably not much of a need to convert them from manual to power.
For power lock actuators, the $10 aftermarket ebay variety should work acceptably with an aftermarket keyless entry system. No big deal if the power locks don't function properly, but having a window stuck down in the middle of winter is no fun.
