help with my headlights?

I posted this in the elec. boards and havent gotten any response yet and I know there is alot of trafic here so I'm asking here too.
O.K. I got in my car to go to work this morning and had no headlight at all, they worked fine yesterday but today when I turned on the headlights, the brights indicater was on and won't go off enless i turn off the lights completlly. When I click the brights lever it feels and sounds like its working but has no effect on the nonexistant lights at all.
Now some of you may know that the driving lights on the T/As go off when you turn on the brights so they wouldn't work eather, enless I only turned on the parking lights. It's like the brights are stuck on, but ,,,there not on.
But anyway,Any ideas on what I should do,,I'm going to make this my Sat. morning project.Anyone else had the same prob. ?

So are you saying the lights don't work at all? Or just that the brights indicator won't go off?

It sounds like one of the switches(brights or driving lights) is sending mixed signals. I'd check the wiring. It is an odd problem, but that would be my first guess.
