HEEEELP, Problem with my headlights(Cool BLues
I love these lights, I put them in about 2 years ago, the past few times I'v used my highbeams, they'll work for about 1-2minutes and then my headlights go out completly, the low beams will come back on when I flick the lever back, the low beams will continue to work w/out a problem. I don't know if it's a problem with the lights(too many watts maybe). My question is, where are the relays and circuit breakers for the headlights(87Firebird vinH). My friend said the relay should be on the driverside inner fender, but I can't find one anywhere, I do have on the the pasengerside though, as well as a few realys on the firewall(driverside). You guys got any ideas...this is bugging the chit out of me!!

Axle/Gears: ones that turn.
The only 'circuit breaker' is in the switch itself; after years of use, they may get a bit touchy when a higher load runs through them. I don't know offhand if the Cool Blues have a higher wattage rating or not, but even my old '81 T-bird used to cut out the high beams with stock halogens. I cured this by hooking a relay into the feed wire up by the rad support to take the heavy load off the switch itself; the only power that ran through the switch was to energize the relay itself.
I recently did this to my Camaro, using two seperate relays...one for lows and the other for highs. This also allowed me to run another switched power feed to the low beam relay to allow them to operate as DRL's.
Hope this helps some
