Rust SUCKKKKSSSSSS!!!!!!!!

ok what is the best treatment for body rust? and i have a couple half dollar size holes on the drivers door- replace the door? what about the B word (bondo) that i've read people don't like too much. and the t-top bar down the middle of the t-tops is rusted out- what the hell mai supposed to do with that? welding sheetmetal in and trying to duplicate?

use a grinder or a wire wheel on a drill to get rid of ALL the rust (removeing it all is the only way to stop it from coming back). after that use a zinc based primer to treat the metal (after you patch it of course). and no there is nothing wrong with using "bondo". is the T-bar itself rotted out or just the metal plate that goes over top of it? and generaly the people who don't like bondo are the people that don't know how to use it right.

I lost a magazine which had a great article on rust removel using electricity to reverse the process. Electrolysis if I can recall.

ANYONE who knows how I can replace that info, I need help with rust too, but may resort to traditional body work.

Car: Camaro of course
Dont use bondo, Though I have never had rust on my car (CA car) I did have a jeep that had a rusted hood. I found it's a big waste of time to try to weld a patch, just replace the door, go to a junk yard or something. I think as far as these things go, go big or go home.

There is nothing wrong with Bondo. Most cars come from the factory with bondo on them to conseal dents from the assembly prosses. If the bottom of your door is rotted out (like mine was) all you have to do is make a pannel the right length and about 2.5 inches tall with a bend on the bottom of it to look like the door edge. Cut all of the rust out of your door and grind around the area to have a good welding and filler surface. Weld the piece in, grind the welds down with a body grinder and then fill the area where you welded with dura glass then bondo. It is not a hard prosses and will last quite a long time if you use some undercoating on the inside of the door to prevent moistier from getting to the inside of the duraglass and bubbling it.
