RUST really sucks
i've got a little bit of rust (little hole in it) on the a pillars (windshield pillar) and was thinking, should I cut it out with a cut off tool or is that a big no no
or should I try and see what I can do with a grinder????

i had the same thing, actually ended up punching out a bondo job that someone had previously done that i wasnt satisfied with. I just tried to elimate all the rust by grinding it. by the time i did that, I had a hole that was about 3 inches long, 1 inch wide, and the outer enge was thinner than a quarter inch. I used rust inhibiter on the edges of the metal, then fiberglass with fabric, and bondo over that. I wrapped the fiberglass fabric all the way around the edge, and used a cone-shaped dremel tip to grind the rough edges of the patch job. With it primered right now, you can't tell at all that any work was done in the area. I haven't done too much body work myself, but I think I did it alright. As long as it don't rot out in the future...

man, i gurantee it will rot out in a few years
i think i'll end up grinding it out then ATTEMPT to MIG a patch in (watch me burn thru and f*ck it up totally! )
its a major supporting structure and i don't think it would be wise to use fiberglass on it
when i get some metal i'll share results

i dunno, i've used fiberglass a couple times without problems, and its waterproof so it wont absorb water like bondo may. i only ised a thin skim coat of bondo.
