Some fixes
Some fixes
Been going through this on my 85 IROC as well. Replaced the speakers as the stockers were rattling and junk. Pulled all the dash vents and put velcro on the hinge/pivot points. I also found under the passenger side on the y-pipe there is a metal POS band clam thing designed to hold the air tube to the cat down... thing was making racket under the car/floorboard and was sounding like it was in the dash from the drivers seat. Fixed this for a big improvement.
I'm pretty sure I'm going to put some dynamat in the spare tire well too.
THe KYB Struts/Shocks really helped my car alot and chasing small leaks and noise now.
400 bucks in new weather stripping for the t-tops and hatch... *ugg*. Ordered them today.

Sounds like you did everything to your car that needs to be done to mine. Well since you have done that I guess I know what I need to do. Thanks. Now you have given me something to look forward to or not look forward to. It sounds like it was rather easy on you other than the T-top weather striping.
actually
Actually I've only had the car for 3 weeks and have been towed 2 times and thats why I'm fixing just about everything I can get my hands on. The car only has 21,000 miles on it (orig). But 18 years old and some things are bound to need replacing for sure. The list so far.
1. New Fuel Pump, Old One Rattling like marbles in tank, noisey
2. New Cap, Rotor, Accell Coil, Ignition Module.
3. KYB Struts and Rear Shocks
4. Alpine CD Player, Pioneer 4x6 Dash, 6x9 Rear's and Infinity Basslink Subwoofer in hatch area.
5. New Gm Licensed custom fit Z28 logo "plush" floormats from classicindustries.com
6. New Alternator
7. T-Top/Door Seals and Hatch Seal on order, OEM from classicindustries.com
8. Replace letter C in iroc logo on passenger door (rock chip)
9. Replaced all 4 wheel centercaps
10. Wiper Blades
11. Flowmaster muffler on stock pipes (stock pipes are fine).
12. 2 afternoons solid of clay barring the paint
13. 2 days of buffing paint out with mequires swirl remover.
14. Hood and hatch struts.
15. Fog lamp bulb.
16. Dentwizards removed 15 little small door dings along moulding line and 8 on the drivers door, the sides of the car/lines are now flawless and look incredible.
The car is running super and looks great. In the spring I want to pull the nose and repaint it. The paint is a bit darker than the rest of the car on the hose and the front ground effects piece from the factory has some edge scrapes on it. Also am going to have the mirrors repained and the side rocker/ground effect pieces as they have scratches from the shoes of the previous owner. Also want to make another run to Dentwizards to have a couple of small dings in the hood removed. Otherwise the paint is in excellent condition.
Cool. No Horsepower mods planned for the future. The car already has a nice shift kit, K&N Filters, Airfoil, 160 stat and the flowmaster muffler. I do want to weld in a set of subframes here soon before I drive it too much. For speed I have the 2002 WS6 Trans Am which I am currently doing the long tube headers with 3" y-pipe and high flow cats and a full nitrous setup with all accessories. I want the WS6 to hit 11's in the spring! : )
