anyone ever had this problem?

ok, on my z28, the passenger power window will only roll down for a second and then stops, and you have to wait a while before you can roll it down for another second, it looks like the switch in the console has been replaced before, but before i go crazy and start ripping stuff apart, i wanted to know if anyone else had this problem
thanks for the help

My drivers side window does this sometimes too. Is yours slower than the other side as well? I was thinking it was a motor about ready to go, but I'm not sure.

i cant even get it to roll down long enough to tell if its slower than the driver's side. it literally will start to roll down for a second or two and then nothing, you have to wait for a minute or so and then it will roll down again for another second. i guess i can replace the motor, b/c it'll probably need it anyways

the pwr window motor has a circut braker built in, as they age the motor starts to draw more current and tripps the braker, the motor will have to replaced, the last one i replaced had the regulator with it as well, it should be one unit, also if you replace it or have someone else replace it be sure the regulator is adjusted correct or you will have a water leak the next time it rains....hope this helps

If it was me, I'd check the thermal breaker in the fusebox before replacing the window motor itself. It could be the elements inside the breaker are getting weaker and trip sooner than they should. Basically, what's happening to you sounds like the breaker heating up after a second, which trips it. Then the motor won't work until the breaker cools off enough to make contact again.

I just like to check the simple stuff first. Nothing would suck more than to replace that motor only to have it do the same thing because it was the breaker all along.
