Water Leaking In The Hatch...

IM LEAKING ALOT OF WATER INTO MY CAR THROUGH THE HATCH. IVE HEARD THERE IS A GASKET BETWEEN THE REAR DECK LID AND THE GLASS. IS THIS TRUE? IM ALMOST POSITIVE THAT IT IS COMING FROM THERE. HOW IS IT FIXED? DO I HAVE TO REMOVE THE WING AND DECK LID TO DO IT OF CAN I RUN A BEAD IF SILICON CAULK AT THE GLASS/DECK JUNCTION.

This question shows up alot. The back glass can leak in a number of places. From the bolts in the top, to where the outer decklid/glass meet, and the bolts in the wing if you have one.

I just added an extra thick bead of silicone under the back of the decklid and that cured the problem from that leak. Then I found a back lid with the urethane(sp) wing at the auto hobby shop on the Navy base in VA and swapped it out. Of course I have to reseal everything but I will touch up the wing first. It all leaks right now.

It has been suggested to have someone run a hose over the decklid at varying points to determine where it is leaking. Start at the bottom and work your way up the window.

Please stop YELLING! LOL! Yes this topic dose come up alot... Try a search, it should give you many different outlooks on the problem. BY the way Caps lock means you are yelling. It is also very hard on teh eyes. Just to let you know...
