a little help with cooling issue
A little short back story, I had an issue of over heating, coolant pushing thru the over flow, and bubbling (boiling) sounds by the water pump. Car is in my signature, LT1/T56, but other than reverse cool it's all same stuff in this system.
Anyways, dirt spot around water pump weep hole a while back while doing opti made me think it would be leaking. So after a few months of use, heating issue getting worse, I decided to do a new water pump. Pulled old one and dirt spot didn't come back, so I don't think it was leaking but while everything was apart, I flushed every single hose, hole and port with clean water, and put it all back together. From there I bled the system through the bleeder screws, then proceeded to bleed the car while it was running with the rad cap off. Same as before, it would have pushed through the over flow cap but with the cap off, it continued to push it's water out the radiator.
So with this, no exterior leaks of coolant, figured it had to be internal, even though it wasn't going through exhaust (or at least not large enough quantity to smoke), figuring the head gaskets had to be bad, I'm in the process of replacing them now, and after taking the driver side apart, wondering what's going on with cylinder 5? Pictures to show...
Any help is appreciated!

Re: a little help with cooling issue
At this point I don't have the patience to wait to order a spray crack kit, and some other people i've talked to feel that the head may be cracked since there was no obvious failure of the head gasket, but for getting into the combustion chamber like that, there was also no excessive smoking in the exhaust, but with that said, this engine was really low miles, and it replaced a higher miles motor that had spun a bearing, but the aluminum heads were doing well, so at this point I have the aluminum set of heads that I know were good, taken down to bare casting sitting in my parts washer, valves soaking and going to put them back together after a day or so of soaking and lap the valves, replace the seals and hope for the best.
