305 TPI/700R4 TV Cable Issues

I recently installed a new TV cable as my old one was very very loose, was having very bad non-shift issues into 3/4.

The new one I installed was 43" or 44" I believe, but it was too short. I thought it was the correct part #. Could I possibly have routed this wrong?

I got it to the bracket on the throttle body, but the cable end just doesn't reach. I do not know what to do, and need to fix this so that I can sell it.

ANY help is appreciated. Thanks guys!

Is the cable not adjustable?

It is adjustable, but it is still a few inches short. This whole transmission issue is just irking me at this point. I'm about to just sell the damn car.

When I put my trans in I also got a TV cable that was too short from autozone, I returned that one and went to car quest and got the right sized one. Weird problem, my best guess is autozone gave me one for a tbi or carb

That's a good point. OP What does your car have? TPI or TBI? Have you pulled the cable all the way out and it won't reach?

They come in different lengths. You need a longer cable.

Set it properly or you will burn the trans.

How do you have it routed?

Edit: Remember that the detent cable goes under the runners, not over, It does not follow the same route as the throttle and cruise control cables...
