It's gone. Long gone. It was soft anyway. Not hardcore. just wanted to make the hair on your neck stand up. At least she was pretty. Anyway.

Still does everyone prefer T Tops or hardtop?

I rather have a hardtop.........Crime is everywhere...........

I don't think i could ever be at peace leaving the t-tops off my car with Florida rain, or the fact it's easy for them to jump in quick and steal a TV......

So i actually like my hardtop.......

But I rather have t-tops then a drop top.......maybe a retractable hard top.....that would be cool.....

There was another choice, right? Sorry, I got into the topic by accident. I thought topic had something to do with topless cars (as in 'verts).

I like them in the summer and hate them in the winter. In the winter, when frost is on the roof they creak like crazy. But in the summer, they are great. Mine don't leak too much, only slightly when it pours for a couple hours. I'll fix that this summer and hopefully get SFCs to stop most of the creaking. Then I'll have nothin to complain about.

15 things i love about T-tops.
i can say more...

1. during sex in the cam its best to take them off more room. and she don't like the back seats.. although if your in a place were a lot of people are its best to go some were else

2. you can see more. and well lets hope your not doing something that the guy in the plane can see

3. free air, sun tan, more place to launch mass of bass, (T-Tops a real birds target)

4. its just fun,

5. it gets you laid, gets you chicks

6. T-tops just look cool!!

7. You can chose if You want it to be a hard top, or feel like a convertible

8. you can throw eggs at your X's house (because she calls you at 3:00am in the morning) farther cause you got more room to throw egg's, "egg drive by"

9. the guy who's rideing your *** behind you, he can see your hand jesters a lot better

10. it takes weight off the car but the down side it might cause it to drag just a little

11. if some ones tall well he'll hit the roof of your cam or trans, well you should have gotten T-tops

12. u can spend less money for T-top's if something happens then it would cost to take thoughs dents out of your hard top's roof....

13.T-Tops, the best air conditioning man ever invented

14. T-Tops are great, at night i can look up and see a reflection of my girl in the passenger seat, hummm?, same theory as the mirror above the bed maybe?

15. Curz'ing on hot nights with the T-Tops off is the Best!!

T-tops 4 ever!!!

Thats a sweet S/C you got there bubbakutz. Were you by any chance driving on the highway near Edison on Thanksgiving? A shiny white s/c with chrome rims passed us, I think it might have been you.

I disagree. I've never had a T-top mind you, but still prefer electric retracting sunroofs or true convertibles. Yes, the T was good enough for Burt, but convertibles are the full way to go...no cheating! hehehe

i can say more...

1. during sex in the cam its best to take them off more room. and she don't like the back seats.. although if your in a place were a lot of people are its best to go some were else
Convertables can give you even more room

2. you can see more. and well lets hope your not doing something that the guy in the plane can see
You can see even more in a convertable

3. free air, sun tan, more place to launch mass of bass, (T-Tops a real birds target)
Same for a convertable

4. its just fun,
So are convertables

5. it gets you laid, gets you chicks
Chicks like convertables too

6. T-tops just look cool!!
So do 'verts

7. You can chose if You want it to be a hard top, or feel like a convertible
With a vert, you can chose top up or down.

8. you can throw eggs at your X's house (because she calls you at 3:00am in the morning) farther cause you got more room to throw egg's, "egg drive by"
Or you can grow up

9. the guy who's rideing your *** behind you, he can see your hand jesters a lot better
Or you can "jester" out the window, or with a convertable it would be much easier.

10. it takes weight off the car but the down side it might cause it to drag just a little

11. if some ones tall well he'll hit the roof of your cam or trans, well you should have gotten T-tops
Or a convertable

12. u can spend less money for T-top's if something happens then it would cost to take thoughs dents out of your hard top's roof....
You can still get a dent on a t-top roof... I did

13.T-Tops, the best air conditioning man ever invented
No way... when its 105 out, I'd rather have the AC on than the t-tops off.

14. T-Tops are great, at night i can look up and see a reflection of my girl in the passenger seat, hummm?, same theory as the mirror above the bed maybe?
haha.. no arguement there

15. Curz'ing on hot nights with the T-Tops off is the Best!!

T-tops 4 ever!!!

So most of the stuff a t-top car can do, a convertable can do too. I still like ttops best though

Sorry, hard tops are not stronger then T-topped cars since they just cut the sheetmetal. The hard top actually has no more structural integrity then the T-top.

I wont even consider buying a 3rdgen unless it has T-Tops....(I guess I could make an exception for the 'verts, but I rarely see them around anyways!)

Actually, you haven't yet. lol
I know I'm new to this board but I am the one who gave that info to Krazzy.

The T-top car is as structurally sound as the hard top. Which is why the 350 has been available in the t-top car.
The convertable has had twisting issues, thus only the 305 was available in it. My brother and I were talking about dropping my spare 350 TPI in his 90 RS convert. But we decided not to unless we beef up the structure first. The debate continues.

If you really question this, pull off the headliner from a hardtop car and check out the rigidity of the sheetmetal. See me point?

BTW, I love t-tops. A little care and the seals will last a long time.

well lets put it this way if a t-top (made from glass or plastic) car is stronger than a hard top (sheet metal) car then why dont they use t-top cars in road racing for better strength or in drag racing so the car wont twist as bad. i'll tell you why because your info is wrong. the fact is if you were to use a t-top car that had gobs of tq. you would have a lap full of glass simple as that.

T-top cars had to have a lot of structural changes to the unibody for them to work.... even then they still flex more than a hardtop

Well, the information comes from a conversation between Scott Settlemire and my brother. John was down at Super Chevy in Las Vegas with some other members of our car club, PNWCC. They went out to dinner with Scott and Benny (the driver of the Legends Tour). Say what you will, but I consider this a very valid source of information.
As for why they don't do the racing with a t-top car, if something would go wrong, there would be another place for glass to break and come down into the passenger compartment. It has nothing to with structural strength.
Also, in drag racing, the cars sheet metal is not a big deal. The roll cage is what protects the driver, not the sheetmetal.
I never said the t-top was stronger, but just as strong.

bubbakutz...use a petrolium jell on your t-top seals. This will keep them lubricated. Just spread a little on and wipe the excess off. Actually, this works well with the door and hatch seals as well. The jell will help keep the rubber compound flexible and last longer.

t-tops are not quite as strong

Realllllly???? Using an oil based product on an oil based product causes rot???? Tell that to Pratt & Whitney, the USAF, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, etc.

Rubber is petroleum based, use a similar base for a lubricant.

look i think we can all agree that you didnt say that the t-top cars were stronger. the problem is your saying it's just as strong when it's not. any time you take away a part of the car to put something in thats weaker would then make the car weaker. see how that works. but if you want to disagree thats fine with me i just wanted to inform you on your faulty information. hey you cant make the horse drink the water right.

Sigh, try to give good info and look what it gets you.

So, you are saying that sheetmetal is stronger than safety glass?
I kind of expected to get jumped on for this info, but I also know about structural reinforcement. Remember the part of the car that was removed was sheetmetal, no real strength to it.

Still, I'd have to believe Scott with his info. You don't want to, that's cool.
