i took a screwdriver and busted the lock out and still can't get the door open. anyone ever done this and know how to unlock it from the outside?

 

Keep spare keys!!! Call a locksmith if you don't want to **** the car up worse.

 

Why would you take a screw driver to the lock man? That caused more problems for you ... now you get to put a new lock cylinder in it.

If I were you, I would have used a slim jim. But you know, that's just me and I like to do things the easy way sometimes.

Take a piece of metal or anything strong and thin. It should be about the thinckness of a swoard (that's what I used). next take a butter knife and pry one of the side windows out. With the gap you have stick the piece of metal (1inc by at least 36inc) down, The edge will catch on the lock, unlock leaver. than just pul back and it will pop the lock. If that doesnt work or you loose you key alot. Get a piece of metal about the same size earlyer stated and make into the picture I attached. Dont waste money on a locksmith. I have done the sword thing on my 3rd gen a few times w/o any damage. And the other...well it always works.

Oh yea, to use the slim jim, stick it in the glass channel and pull up and down etc. untill you catch the lock rod. than just tug up...and bingo your in!

 

or just keep a spare key in your wallet..

 

Does the car have T-tops? On some of our cars you can actually pull the window away from the body far enough to reach your arm in and unlock it. I had to do this once for my car.

 

I was afraid I would shatter my window pulling it back so far, and I was pretty buzzed so I just called local police for them to slim jim it lol
