Firebird Map Pouch Pocket?

Does anyone know the dimensions of this compartment? Also, how do they mount to the dash? Pics would be awesome!
Thanks

Well, I do know that it is just a piece of tin, like a license plate that is covered in that fake leather like stuff. It snaps onto the dash by means of those pegs that are ribbed and just push into holes. If you are careful, you can get it off pretty easily. Just take your time. I don't know if the dash will crack around the holes and stuff. I'm not sure of the dimensions though.

I had the idea of putting that pouch as a hinged door and putting a CD changer, or glove-box behind that, with a little latch of some sort at the top. There is quite a bit of room back there. I don't think it owul be too much of a problem. I bet a Playstatio would also fit in there. Or a TV.

I'd estimate the dimensions to be around 3.5"-4" X 12" or so.

That would be a cool mod. I might have to look into that also.

Are you thinking of adding one to the dash in your Camaro? I just installed one today in my car... took no time at all. The pocket is attached by pegs as stated above. All you have to do is drill holes in your dash & it snaps right in :-D
