interior lights

hey,
i know that the lights in the dash arounf the guages are the 194's but what are the ones behind the rear defroster and underneith the shifter plate? another question about the shifter plate...i have never been in another third gen camaro at night...the shifter plate lights up but i cant always tell for sure unless i just do it by feel or whatnot weather i am in drive or overdrive or nutural or what because it is so dark....my point is is there suppose to be another light to light up that tells me what one i am in? hope this isnt too confusing
thanks
bub

i just took apart my console about a week ago to fix that damn light.
i have an 87 formula firebird and to replace the light that luminates the park/drive face, it was labeled a
-GE37-
and a 194 was to big to replace it. The GE37 is just like a smaller version of the 194. i got my replacement bulb at Autozone, so it shouldnt be hard to find.

i have an 86 sport coupe, and it uses the 194s for the shifter plate and the climate controls. Unfortunately, there's no light for which gear you're in for the automatics. You just have to go by feel.

i got an auto plate outta a 92 z in my car right now and it lights up and has a plate that tells ya what gear your in, you should invest in one and pop it right in cause the rest of the console i got is from an 84 z so its interchangeable only problem is my bird console used a smaller bulb to i gotta splice some wires but other than that the camaro consoles rule
