Masking tape on paint...
I want to paint my bumper stripe, and I was wondering if I can just masking tape off the edges of the stripe on the bumper, or if regular masking tape will cause damage.... what should I use?

Regular masking tape wont hurt anything, but if you are worried, go to Wal-Mart or somewhere and get that Blue Painters masking tape. It works great.
Are you trying to paint the decal stripe?

Yeah, most any masking tape will do....just be sure you don't pull it off too fast or press it onto the paint too hard. I've never had a problem with it.

The only real bad thing about normal masking tape is...Don't leave it on to long or leave it in the su, it will be very hard to get it off clean. Also do not use normal masking tape on freshly cured paint, it may tear the paint off with it. I would just do like StngKlr said, go to Walmart or somewhere and get the painters tape. Is it really blue in the states? It is more of a green colour here, just curious?

Yeah I'm going to paint the decal stripe. Any tips on getting the Tuned Port Injection Badge off so that I can still use it afterwards?

That blue tape peels off too easy and doesn't hold a nice clean edge. I've always used the good 3M masking tape. Wont hurt the paint, comes off easy, holds a nice edge. Cheap stuff will tear apart and leave a mess if left on too long.

Another good tips is when your puling off the masking tape.....try to keep it at about a 90 degree agle when do it........it evens out the pressure while pulling the tape...and I've never had a problem with it....
