dancing oil gauge

dancing oil gauge

Does anyone know why my oil gauge bounces from left too right and how much it costs to fix that ?

Most of the time it means that your sending unit is shot and that you need to buy a new one. Not sure of the cost though.

mine used to bounc up and down a bit but now it just kinda got stuck above the 60psi reading and it will stay there after the car is off. those that mean its totally dead? and i just did a fresh oil change and it didnt change anything.

Oil pressure will vary with engine speed. Maybe that's why it is moving back and forth.

well now its started to move/twitch kinda now but when i shut the car off now it goes back down to almost zero and when the car is runnin its at about 60 but then stays there even when im parked and when im cruzing it goes just a little over the 60 mark.
