Sylvania Silver-Star headlights - redux

Well, I was very impressed with the Silverstar high beam bulbs, so I tried the low beams. Not so good. They seem LESS bright than the Xtra-Vision bulbs I took out. Particularly on rainy-wet asphalt. I'm thinking of putting the old bulbs back in. Whassup here? The low beams are also noticibly bluer than the high beams. Love the Silverstar high beams, pass on the low beams, save your money and just put in Xtra-Visions. IMO Sylvania should lose the blue tint and just run clear bulbs. Why filter out the red-yellow light?

Silverstars kick *** for high beams, but for low beams, they're not worth the extra bucks. IMO, YMMV, etc.... Xtra-Visions seem to tbe the best bang for the buck on the low beams.

I put the silverstars on about a month ago. Compared to normal 7 dollar replacements they are a big improvement. But when they burn out, I cant see myself spending 20 each on new ones. I havent tried the high beams yet, because well, my high beam switch/stick thing doesnt work. I should probobly get that fixed..

Mmm, since my headlights are combined I can't comment on the low vs high debate, my combined light silverstars work very well however for any other curious firebird owners out there.

Look at the package all the bulbs are 12v/55w technically they are the same brighness the only difference is the color spectrum they emit. THe blueish seem brighter to the human eye. Find some of the off road lights around 65 to 75w, now that will be bright, I have a friend that runs them on a 89 BMW.
