I am working on my project firebird, and the driver's side outside door handle was broken off. I went to the junkyard and got a new handle, and then when I got home and went to put it on, the rod that goes through the handle and down to the door mechanism is gone. My question is, how does this whole thing go together? do I need to get the whole mechanism from the other car, or can I just get the rod? Does it sit in, bolt in, screw in, lock in, or what? I am kinda lost, and any help would be appreciated.

Go back to the yard and look at one that is together for refrence,,You will need the rod and the plastic clips that hold them all together( 2 of them )
