General convertible interior questions

In looking at my 89 convertible, it appears that the rear passenger compartment side panels and the trunk panels, including the locked compartment, are the coupe panels which have been cut down to fit the convertible. Is this correct. Also, in my travels I came across another 89 IROC-Z convertible which had gray interior except from behind the rear seats and trunk - it was black. Is this possible or were the rear carpet and panels replaced.
I appreciate your patients in answering my basic questions. I have not found anyone close to where I live that know much about these cars.

Thanks again,
dave

my vert has the light gray interior and yes from the back seats back it is black and yes the trunk pieces were cut to fit in a vert.

eventually I am changing my interior to black and charcoal so it won't really matter!

oh.. and welcome to the boards!

More interior info needed

I appreciate the info on the trunk pieces. But are the rear passenger compartment pieces also coupe pieces that were cut down? I have access to an 89 Z coupe for parts, but only for a short time. Anybody need anything?

Sorry missed that part, no they weren't cut down versions of coupes. The coupes had the wheel well shape in them and the sail panel speakers came down pretty far. The vert pieces were different totally, because of the structure for the top it forced the interior panel out farther so it didn't need the wheel well hump in it. Hope that makes sence.

conflicting info on interior pieces

Hey, thanks for the quick replies but one person says yes the rear passenger compartment pieces are cut down coupe pieces and another says no. Anybody got a tie break out there. Anybody actually cut down coupe pieces to fit.
I haven't taken pictures yet, I just got it and it is going for paint in the next couple weeks. In eastern washington, it ain't convertible weather. My baby is staying inside until April or so.......
Thanks for everyone's help. I have always been a first/second generation guy, but I sure love this one......
