Shorter air damn peice?

My iroc is really slammed in the front end and the air damn is two to three inches from the ground. Needless to say the thing scrapes on everything everywhere I go. I want to get a shorter air damn or cut mine up. Not that im worried about it scraping, its more or less that the sound is embarrasing when I go places. My car doesnt have a problem with overheating btw.

You might have a problem with overheating if and when you shorten your air dam.

If you really want to, just take it off and use a sharp knife and score it. Then bend it and break a piece off.

what if i cut the thing shorter and installed a three row alum radiator with a fan switch? If I went all out on cooling my car I think that the air damn would be a part I dont need

The air dam is what forces air up thier to begin with......my car is slammed and the air dam might be 2-3 inches off the ground at most. It scrapes on alot of things, but id rather it be thier and scrape, then lose it and say bye bye cooling.

You can make other cooling to make up for the air dam...

A transmission cooler
Lower T-stat
manual fan switch
Better radiator

It should pick up the slack for the missing air dam

Even good radiators need airflow through them to cool.

You'll probably(it's iffy) be okay shortening the airdam, but I wouldn't do it personally. As long as I'm not scraping up the spoiler, I don't care.

Running the fan all the time isn't really the answer either. In case you didn't notice, they suck quite a bit of juice.
