chassis and body swap
chassis and body swap
I have an 89 gta with the v8 but i found out it had been previousely wrecked and the chassis is bent. i am planning on finding a good body and chassis use in place of the one that is on my car. i was wondering if the body pieces and chassis are different on a regular firebird than on a trans am. i need to find out in a hurry because there is an 89 v6 firebird with a good chassis and body for sale that i am interested in. if you can help i'd appreciate it.

The body/chassis assembly is the same. Some of the suspension components are less "performance oriented" on the V6 model, such as springs, sway bars, steering box, etc. But if you have a GTA with all the good parts there should be no reason you can't swap everything onto the V6 car. My car started out life with a V6 as well.

Yes you can. The only difference is in the ground effects. Which Firebirds do not have. If you wanted to use them you can mount them on the Firebird body.
