How to adjust hood latch?

I hope someone can help me out here...

When my hood is closed, there is a 1/4-1/2" gap between the hood and bumper. It bothers me. Alot. Is there some way to lower the latch assembly? I tried doing a search and just couldn't find what I was looking for.

Thanks!
Jon

There are 2 bolts you can loosen to move the latch up or down. There's also the rubber bumpers you can adjust too.

Firebird's have 4 adjustment ***** under the hood, 2 next to the lights and 2 at the hood corners, but of course none of the pictures of my engine bay that are online show the *****.

What I did was adjust all the ***** all the way down, to make sure there wasn't something else holding up the hood. IF it is your latch that is holding the hood up, there are a couple bolts holding the lower latching assembly that can be loosened and would allow for some adjustment. It is highly unlikely that this is holding your hood. Once verified, raise the ***** to raise the hood. Once it's set they shouldn't move. If they do, try some locktite.

GL!

Usually when the latch is misadjusted, you'll have a problem opening or closing the hood. Either the hood won't "pop open" when you pull the cable, and you gotta wiggle the hood to open it, or, the hood pops open too easily. I'd definately hunt down all those rubber bumpers, first.

*Update

Well it took me all of about two minutes to adjust the latch down a little. Thanks. I'm serious, it was really hard for me to look at the front of my car w/o that jumping out at me!
