Need help with my carpet on the interior
I had a little incident with the guardrail, and well I need to get my frame fixed. In order to fix the frame, they will be heating it up quite a bit so obviously I need to take out my carpet so it does not burn up.
My carpet is in great condition, I'd really hate to have to destroy it taking it out. Can someone please give me a suggestion on the best way to get it out intact? That would be much appreicated thankyou.
Oh and BTW it is a '91 Pontiac Firebird.

To remove your carpet:
1. Remove seats
2. Remove center console
3. Remove door sill plates
4. Remove seatbelts
5. Remove carpet
Use a torque wrench on your seatbelt bolts when you reinstall them. You don't want your seatbelt bolts undertorqued OR overtorqued. If you don't have a torque wrench, it's time to buy one, for $40, from Sears.

If it is original, you might have to cut the very top of the carpet under the consule. I took mine out a couple of months ago, and I had to cut it. You will not see the cut once the consule is put back in.
hey camper i was wondering if you could tell me how the frame work turns out. I was hit in the pass side a few months ago and i think but am not sure wether or not i need frame work done too. I have heard mostly negative things about it. I really love my car and don't want to get rid of it. I was hoping the frame work could be done and be reliable. I would really appreciate it if you could tell me how it all turns out. and welcome to the boards
