I see you are from California, so you're probably not familiar with the rust we get here in the midwest. Some cars you see people parting-out online that look great in the picture are bondo-buckets that are completely rusted-out underneath.

The point at which a car is worth fixing is different for different people, too. Some people are more realistic about how much money it would take to save a car. Then there's those like me that start with a crappy car and put way too much money in it instead of starting with a nicer car.

Mines a bodo bucket.I'll never part out my first car I ever owned. Next time I decide to paint my car I will cut off the rear quarter and weld in a new one, and put a strait driver side door on. And possible some of those people bought the car at a auction for bone cheap and want to make some profit off of it so they will part it out.

I parted out my 82 T/a cause it sat in the same spot since 96' and the unibody rotted through in some parts along w/ the floorboards and other supports. best damn reason there.

I plan on parting out my car...once I get a good bodied Iroc or Trans Am. The body on mine is a beat up and rusted through. There are only a few things I plan on keeping (i.e. door pannels, and rest of interior).
