Headliners

I have a question for all of you that have replaced your headliner. Hawks Third Gen Parts has a plastic headliner. Has anyone used this? Is it just the backing or is it just like the fabric headliner? Do you know if it will look cheap? I don't like the fabric since it only stays up for so long but I don't know what the plastic headliner would look like and if it would allow more windnoise and moisture (since the t-tops leak) in. I am sure as soon as I change the weatherstriping around the tops that some of the noise will stop and the leaking will stop too. Well I should say I hope. So does anyone know anything more about the plastic headliners? Thanks for all of your help.

One of my neighbors had the plastic t-top headliner in his car. He's had it for quite a while and the fabric is in good shape. It is really rigid as compared to the crappy fiberboard one that is stock.

I plan on getting one when I do my interior later in the year. Hope this helps.

I just purchased an ABS headliner from A1 Automotive...they tell me it looks completely original and has a lifetime guarentee on the back board so im sure its a quality piece...im also replacing the weather stripping while im doing this so i hope that the moisture issure wont be a problem. I dont know about the wind noise issues but i dont think that will be much of a problem. When i get the headliner and install it ill keep u updated and post some pics if you want.

Sure keep me posted on how difficult/easy it is to replace them both. Pics of the liner before and after you get it put in would be nice. When are you going to be getting your new liner and about when do you think you will get around to installing it? How much did it cost you for your new liner? I think Hawks wants like $150 for theirs. I think the hardest one to do will be the weather stripping. I am hoping by replacing the w/s the moisture will be gone too. I don't like turning and having water drip on me. Keep me posted.
