Of course it can be done, but the answer you will get from this question will be "It's not worth it". Here's an incomplete list of what will be involved: removing a dash wiring harness from a ddash car(not fun at all, dont ask how I know...), all involved sensors(low coolent, doors, lights ect.) and of course misc. wiring. This is not going to be a small project, if you catch my drift.

so what you are saying is i would rather, build a custom digital setup then trying a large project that will cause more frustration then honor, or pride....i get you, the only dash swap i have don't was a 98to 88 S-10 dash swap, that was terrible, but i did mess with wires for about two weeks 20hours a week,

thank you for busting a bubble it save me time(which is money)

If you're interested in the swap I actually have an '87 GTA digital dash that still has the complete harness attached. It has basically every wire from the headlights to the taillights!!! It also has the heater box, and all the sensors. You won't find one more complete than this!!! In fact, I don't know of another system anywhere that is pulled out like this. It is totally set up to swap into a car that didn't originally come with one. If anybody is interested let me know. Unfortunately, I can't ship it because of its size so you would have to pick it up.
