taillights: Bird to Camaro

Search is down, I'm sure this has been asked before, but can Firebird tails be put on a Camaro, or do they not wrap around the rear quarter panels?

Will they bolt up the same? I could always use a filler plate of some kind around the rear quarters, and leave my license plate in the center, or do is the fit that far off?

I may be able to get my hands on a set _real_ cheap, I may get them and peak at them anyways, maybe I can do something with them. I'm just looking at something different for tail lights, and a quick photoshop of GTA style tails looked good to me, on my '92.

Even if the bird lights did fit, you'd be covering up your license plate, and the keyhole to open the rear hatch....also you'd more than likely have a firebird emblem back there....

it would be MUCH easier to buy a bird and put the camaro nose and gfx on it than the tinfoil and duct tape job you're talking about here as an added bonus you could just buy a bird and switch noses and gfx with your camaro and have two crazy cars

I'm not interested in swapping noses or anything crazy like that, I just thought I'd try something different from those old grid style tail lights that don't have much variation.

If I did the swap, I wouldn't use the centerpiece with the firebird, so my license plate should still be opened.

Like I said, I may be able to get a set dirt cheap, if so, I may try it just for the heck of it, if I do, I'll take pics or something.

Incorrect. The centerpiece for bird lights is not as wide as plates.
Birds are wider in the rear so the lights would have to be even closer together still.
The mounting holes are the same for both cars (the underlying structure, i.e. framing, is used to make both vehicles), the surrounding metal however, is not.

Give it a shot, I seriously doubt you'll get the results you're after though.
