Covering Steering Wheel

Ok, I have a '92 with an airbag in the steering wheel. The search is not accepting "air bag", or "airbag", giving me no search results, so if this was asked before I apologize, but is it possible to cover the airbag, or will this cause problems?

If I just tuck the fabric behind the airbag itself, will the airbag blow through this on impact (not that I plan on getting hit)? Has anyone done anything like this?

the search just worked for me using "airbag" don't forget to pick which thread to search near the bottom of the search screen, it defaults to the T shirt thread.. doubt there's anything about airbags there
