I'm going to have my car repainted and some body wor done to the underside to cover some rust spots and have them fixed and all. Are they a reliable place? They said they'd charge about 2,700 to repaint, re-clear coat, and do the body work that was needed to the underside is this good or will I get screwed?

 

That a fairly competitive price, and with the dealer if they screw it up you can take it back and make them fix it right. I took my car to 4 different' places for a paint estimate and got 900.00, 2,400. 3,000, and 4,000 dollar estimates. that includes all body work. Or you can do all the body work your self and take it to your local 'econo' paint place like Macco and get it painted for like 300

the paint might be sub standard, I paid $700 just for my Primer, Paint and supplies... I did the work...

sub-standard isn't what i'm going for i'm really wanting to fix this car up and make it my own I'd say it's come along way and I want to make it like new, the only wrecks it has been in is the 2fast hit the ditch in the turn wrecks ( floppy fenders to prove it :P)
(when I bought it most of it was all stuffed in the inside and halfway put together I believe it was used as a parts car??) If this starts to cost to much money though it may just sit on the jack stands in the shop a while longer cuz my paychecks are sucking right now (avg 131/2wks) I was told at the chev place it was the paint that they are using on the 4thgens.

this rhino bed liner stuff how mouch is it? I may do the underside of mine with that as well

i'm hoping to get some pics scanned by this weekend of the car so everybody can look at it and laugh at me for wasting so much time on a dream :P
