prevent dash cracking, TELL ME NOW!

i read a really good post a while back and can't find it so im going to ask again, i apologize now because this has been posted many times before

my 87' dash is mint, i mean 99.9 %PERFECT, guy i bought it from offered me 100$ if i could find a stock dash in as good condition, it's that good. i read armor all actually dries the dash out if you stop using it, i haven't touched the dash since i bought the car in august, it gets to about 10 degrees here in south jersey, im scared....im scared im gonna wake up one morning, and see a dreaded crack, i couldn't find 3M vinyl mosterizer when i went to pep boys tonight, what WORKs, cracks are caused by #1 UV rays and heat and #2 expansion/shrinkage associated with cold/hot right?. so a well mosterized dash should stand a much better chance....16 year old dash....a heated garaged is not possible....so tell me please!

thnx in advance

(i have a really nice 800$ digital camera (well my dads) ill take some pictures of the dash....

I will NOT give up, I want my dash to stay perfect. I am a retard, i ran outside 5 minutes ago in the dark and cold and took pictures of my dash. If anyone can tell me the part of the vent cover that is cracked and what it's called and where to buy it I'd appreciate it.

As you can see (bad pictures, it's 1030 at night) my dash is damn nice (not clean, but nice) how can i keep it that way? KEEP AWAY CRACKS! HELP ME!

When you leave your car in the sun, put one of those visors over the dash. It will keep your car cooler as well. Mine has that same crack.

I have that crack too. If I'm right, that's not a seperate piece there, you'd have to replace the entire dash, unless you can find a way to repair it.

I'm convinced that crack is a result of all the torque our engines have. But then again if I'm right my v6 Camaro has it too.
