Power window motors

Has anyone replaced their window motors? Mine are getting slower by the day and need attention.

How hard are they to do and what did it cost?

TIA

I am in the same boat as you. I thought I remembered a thread where someone said to get the motor from a different make of vehicle that fit and worked better.

I'm sure yours is similar to mine. I have an 88 GTA. I had my door panel off today to adjust my window. I looked at the window motor. It looks like a piece of cake to change to me. I changed one on my wife's Cadillac Deville and it was a pain in the azz. Anyways, the window motors have rivets that hold them on. You will need something to grind the rivets off. You can use bolts and nuts from a hardware store to replace the rivets. New motors cost about $25. I wouldn't mess with trying to put a motor from a different type of car in there. You're asking for trouble that way. Matt
