Rear Defroster

I have a 86 Trans am, and I can't find out how to turn on my rear defroster. I know it's a stupid question but I just bought the car not too long ago and I can't turn on the rear defroster...does anybody know how to turn it on?

Thanks!!!!

this is on my 85 trans am , i dont know how much they changed each year , but i dont think the button location was something they changed. it should be the same , unless your car doesnt have a rear defroster . or the car originally came with one and someone replaced the glass with one without a defroster and just left the button.

make sure your hatch lifts have the shocks with the wire connectors plugged in.

Maybe the opposite is true: you can't find a button because there isn't one- but there is a defroster. The original non-defroster hatch may have been replaced with a hatch that has rear defrost.

This is the case with my car. Actually, I have installed the dash piece with the button now, but there's still no wiring between the two.

exact thing was the case with my 88 formula 350, someone swapped the hatch that had the defroster lines, however no switch to be found...
