I recently wrecked my 89 RS . However, I also recently purchased an 84 T/A. I want to take the engine out of my Camaro and put it in the T/A since the motor and tranny in the T/A are shot. My problem is I really like the look of the stock Power Bulge hood but I also like the extra torque my RPM Air-Gap manifold gives me. I had to replace the hood on my camaro because the carb was too tall. I had to add at least 1.5-2" to get an air cleaner to fit in my camaro. Is there any way I can get the engine to fit or will I have to get a new intake manifold???

Just get a drop-base air cleaner. That should clear fine.

 

You should be able to fit a Performer RPM under the hood with a drop base, but I think you are asking too much to put an Air-Gap under there...
