Power Window Install Question!! Need Help!!

I have been searching for window install on the board but I just can't seem to find what I am looking for.

Here's the problem: I already have power windows, however, I had to break my window the other day. I've taken the door panel off and the plastic liner. I already have a new power window (glass and track) to replace the broken one. I can't figure out how to get the old track or guide out. And I am totally confused on how to put the new one in. I read the tech article, but I didn't find much help on the glass installation... I spoke with a mechanic about the install and he said that I would have to pop the rivets out of my new window and install bolts in the place of the riverts.. Is it possible to take the old track out and put new glass and track in its place without popping the rivets? Any ideas or help would be a life-saver!!

Thanks,
Will

poor guy.........

I had the modules go out, and had them installed by the dealer...

unfortunately...you need to pop the rivets to complete this task, and they SHOULD be re-riveted.

MY advice.......take them in, hand over the module, and have them do it...too much frustration, but it will cost about 100-125 for the task. I think its worth it..........but it may be less if you leave the panel off. Good luck

that is way to expensive. it usually only take about 1.5 hours to do that, and my labor rate is 45 an hour, so it ends up being about $70. in any case, just make sure you take it to an electrical tech, not just a "tech". a tech will use brute force to get it in there. it takes a lot of paitiance to do this kind of work, and that is why i have a lot of road rage and high speed driving after work

good luck
