Headlight blackouts fall off! Help!

I put the front blackouts on and it looks cool! Reminds me of the original IROC race cars.... anyway, took the car on the highway and the passenger one catches the air and flies off! I really want to stay away from drilling holes, what has anyone else done?

I know you don't want to hear this , but the what wind did was the right thing. I suggest you lose the other one as well ;-)

but if you really want to keep them on I think you'll have to drill and mount them with bolts, there's a lot of force pushing on them at higher speeds

You really don't think they look good? I think it depends on the car. I have a black IROC with red emblems and pinstriping, with limo tint windows and rear blackouts as well. I think it comes together quite nicely.
<p>
Well, if I have to bolt them on, anyone have experience with what screws won't rust? I was thinking some of the interior torx's would look good.

the plastic pieces on each side attached with double sided tape right? when you put them on, did you make sure and clean the area real good with rubbing alcohol? did you put the plastic pieces on and wait a day or 2 before putting the blackouts on? I remember when I put them on my car, the directions said to wait like 48 hours for the tape to cure before you put the blackouts on. Now those pieces absolutely will not budge. I don't have them anymore though, cuz I rear ended someone and cracked one of them.

I have some that I have not installed yet. I just wonder how you can even take them off and on once installed.

To put them on and take them off is really actually easy. You have to put one side of the cover into the bracket (outside) first, then bow the cover out and put the other side in. It sounds hard but it really quite easy. I had em on my 92z but some jackass came along and stole em while i was at work...not cool

Oh, I waited 2 hours... ... I just went outside and checked, and the remaining ones are rock-tight.... crap! Can you buy this double sided tape? The stuff at the hardware store isn't half as tacky as this is (no pun there)
