Another A/C delete ?

I found a Camaro in the bone yard with out factory A/C. My question is will the control panel in the dash swap in to my 86 Firebird? I presume the boxes are all the same. TIA!

Don't see why not... I think the only thing that was different was the climate control's faceplate and *****.

Did you get the famous a/c delete heater box? I hope it's still there for you when you go back... get the motor and fan cage, too. I nabbed that heater box this summer, and found out a few weeks ago from the tech board that the fan cage isn't as deep. Damn... and I left the motor/cage there because "oh, I already have a motor and fan cage." Oops.

Have'nt got any of it yet. Its all complete sitting in a Camaro. The guy wants $70.00 for the whole deal. But I'm not sure if the heater controls are the same as my 86 Firebird. Still hoping some one here knows.

I would keep your HVAC control panel you have now. It has 4 blower speeds and the non A/C cars only have 3. Use your blower motor that is in your car now. You will have to get some 1/2" thick weatherstripping to put in between the motor and box so that the fan will not rub the firewall since the non A/C box is a tad bit shallower. I scored a non A/C box with fan and motor for $20 at the local yard. I looked fo rmore but I got the last one. It was in an 84Z

You don't need the heater controls, just the box and the plastic fan piece.

$70?!?! Offer him no more than $15.00 for the box.
