Removing rear seats....

Removing rear seats.... how hard is it?
Last week when I was at the local u-pull-it yard, there was a really nice rear seat. I'm think'n of going back for it. But if it's gonna be a pain in the a**, maybe not.

Two 14mm fasteners located at the botom center of each seat and one 14mm on each side of the back. Thats it (4) fasteners.

Extremely easy to do. I was actually quite discouraged after removing them. I mean 4 bolts are all that keeps the passengers from flying forward and hurting ME.

Be like me. Don't carry passengers.

The 4 bolts holding down the seats aren't whats holding the passengers in. Its the 4 bolts holding down the seat belts, just like in any other car.

yea the actual thing holding the passengers back are the bolts on the seat belts themselves. they are pretty big and they are tight! i don't think you gotta worry bout those failing

Seatbelts have Nothing to do with removing the rear seats.

I'm gonna give it a go. I'm going to take my brother w\me, in case they are too tough for me to remove myself. NOT because I'm a girl > because since I broke my wrist 2yrs ago...
I'll be tackling it on the 1st of May, I'll keep you posted.

I can't remember for sure and I actually believe I'm wrong.

Is there some sort of seat belt guide on the back seat? If there is you'll need a philips screw driver so you can leave that guide there. Or remove the seatbelts. Its probably 4th gens that have the guide. I don't spend a lot of time in the back seat so I can't remember.

Since I'm home, I checked. My 88 only has lap belts in the backseat. SO 88 does not have seat belt guide.

I got lucky the back seat I wanted was still there, and now it's MINE!
Also got the gfx piece I needed to complete the set (now I don't have any excuse to painting & getting it done), rear spoiler\w brake lite, triangle door sills, window felts & rear view mirror\map light. Now the BEST part > cost me $50.00!!!! @ u-pull-it wrecking yrd. Way better than ebay!
Today I'll finish cleaning them up & tonight they are in.

i don't know about you guys but the rear seats were a pain in the *** in my car... i thought it was going to take 10 minutes, which it should've...

but the rear seats had those bolts in them, with the torx bolts... and they were cemented in the hole. Unscrewing them I ended up stripping the bolts... LOL

It ended up taking like 3 hours getting those bolts out.

yeh u know how that nut is welded to the looped bar. well the nut on 1 side of mine broke loose and is just spinnin. On my pass side rear seat bottom. Easyspeed is that what urs did or was the bolt just stripped. I dunno how to get it out without tearing up the seat??? It would be hard to get a drill or nething down there.

i had that exact problem today.

i stripped all of the interior out of my car except for the dash, rear passenger seat, and carpet. i tried for about 20 minutes to get that seat to cooperate, but no luck. i don't know what i'm going to do, exactly.
