how accurate is the curb weight that chevy claims for our cars?

i believe for an 1982 Z28 the curb weight is 3442

now how accurate is that if my car is stock, wihout any crap inside. ? within say 30 lbs?

+ the driver of course

 

Thats probably pretty close, I don't know if I would say within 30lbs though, even stock there is going to be different things that will affect it. Do a search on this subject, there are quite a few people who have had their cars weighed.
