4th gen

Hey, I already know the sail panels from a 4th gen won't fit in a third gen, at least for a coupe. What about a convertible? Will a 4th gen vert's sail panels by any chance fit in a third gen's? I know the deisgn is somewhat similar, and I think they look a lot nicer.

I don't think that they will. It seems everything from except the seats from the doors on back won't work.

That's what I've heard, but why not?

I mean, if it's just the way it's mounted, I'm, sure I could figure out some way to get them on. They look abouit the same size though, and clearence doesn't seem to be an issue. Has anyone ever seen one to take measurements? Or even tried it?

Well, if anyone cares, I went to a junkyard today and they had a 4th gen vert (camaro) and I looked at the sail panels. They look pretty much the same shape, and like they would fit. I didn't actually take one off to see the back, but It doesn't look like clearence would be too much of an issue. I think I'm gonna go tomorrow to take some measurements.

Sounds interesting !
If that will work, you may have started the next 4th gen hype

Does anyone have the pics handy of that candy apple convertible that "pioneered" the whole 4th gen interior swap?
I can't recall if he kept the stock rear side panels or went with the 4th gen ones?

little update just incase anyone cares. I went back to the junkyard, but unfortunetly, the car was gone. I don't know where the heck a whole car disappears to, but it's gone, and they don't have anymore. So, I guess I won't be trying this for now.

in to someones garage, thats were. it is called tax free parts money. the yards do it all the time "a ya, that car was crushed yesterday" and then make a lot more money off of it. that is how i got my 4th gen seats and t56 so cheap, no tax, 300 for seats, 875 for the manual driveline. and that was everything assosiated with the the tranny.

thanks
